Philadelphia, in Pennsylvania, USA, brings to a traveler a host of interesting subjects to explore. Equally a center for commerce, education, and culture, this city is always bubbling with something new to offer. You can breathe liberty and happiness in the air of Philadelphia and discover life in every little detail you notice in the city and the countryside of this place with beautiful character. The Philadelphia tourist attractions vary from art and architecture to downtown throb to most importantly, lot of historic spots.

Philadelphia exactly where the Declaration of Independence was endorsed in the year 1776 by Thomas Jefferson and the Constitution of the United States was brought about in writing in the year 1787, Independence Hall stands as one of the most visited Philadelphia tourist attractions. Made of red brick in typical Georgian style of architecture with a clock tower, the building oozes history in every single block. Assembly Room, the most significant of all chambers here, is where George Washington was pronounced as the commander in chief of the Continental Army. You can find a huge statue of George Washington just outside the Independence Hall and plaques commemorating political greats like Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. In the 2nd Street, Elfreth’s Alley brings to the fore a picture of the 1700s – this oldest residential street of USA occupied through a long stretch, depicts the feel of what the city of Colonial Philadelphia once looked like. Narrow, cobbled streets are encompassed by simple brick homes that were once built for Philadelphia’s artisans and their families. You can also find the Elfreth’s Alley Museum, along the Elfreth’s Alley and check out the two refurbished homes, one of which once served as the residence of a chair maker, while the other was that of a dressmaker.

Liberty Bell – Located on the Chestnut Street, the Liberty Bell stands with pride in between 5th and 6th Streets of Philadelphia. Standing face to face with the famous Independence Hall, this bell is considered to be one of the most striking Philadelphia tourist attractions. Known for its historic significance, as it was tolled to call the locals during the event of Declaration on the outer skirts of the State House (now Independence Hall), the Liberty Bell is also referred to as the State House Bell until 1830 when it got its present name. Originally placed inside the Independence Hall before it was transferred to its present location of the glass pavilion, on the occasion of the1976 Bicentennial, the Liberty Bell draws a huge following of tourists.
There are a few counties that are close enough to the city to be worth a short drive of an hour or less to see the attractions that are there. In Montgomery County, you can visit The Valley Forge National Historic Park. You might wish to stop in and visit The King of Prussia Mall while you are there and there is no tax on clothes purchases. The Barnes Foundation houses impressionist art. There is folk art you can purchase and gardens to walk in. In Montgomery County they have festivals and performances year round.

Philadelphia, fondly known as the City of Brotherly Love, is the largest city in the state of Pennsylvania, in the United States. It has a population of over 1.4 million with a growth rate of 1.2% on average until 2009. This growth is considered one of the lowest in the United States, however, at the present time, there has been a small but significant influx of migrants into the area of Philadelphia which has helped somewhat make the office space market in Philly stable. Philadelphia played an important role in what has become America as we know it because it was here that the American Revolution and Independence was fought for. We also list all the office spaces in Pittsburgh and the majority of local listings in: Blue Bell, East Falls, Hatboro, Manayunk, Market St., Oreland, Roxboro, Bridgeport, Chester Springs, Exton, Hanover, and Queen Village. If you need an office space elsewhere check out our office listings.

Local Economy and Companies Supporting Philadelphia:
Philadelphia’s main economic interests lie in the areas of manufacturing, oil refining, food processing, medical or health care and biotechnology. Some prominent Fortune 500 companies that have their base here are Comcast, Lincoln Financial Group, Sunoco, Rohm and Haas Company, Wyeth and Glaxo SmithKline. Some of the federal government’s facilities are also here for e.g., the United States Mint and the Federal Reserve Bank’s Philadelphia division.

Philadelphia New Commercial Developments:
New commercial development is said to be ready to make a comeback with the economy showing signs of recovery. Many business owners are planning their strategy for expansion and new ventures. The commercial districts are poised to be ready when the businesses come back strong after the turmoil. Even the local communities have agreed to work together to make these new ventures work.

Office Space In Philadelphia Rental Rates:
Philadelphia recorded one of the lowest office vacancy rates in the nation at 10.2% despite the economic crisis hitting the whole country. The commercial office rentals faced a hard knock though with a huge dip in rentals which has been experienced across the entire country. The bad economy has affected all types of spaces like serviced units, temporary office spaces, furnished units, and even just conference rooms rented by the hour have dropped in price. Many land and building owners had to package their tenancy agreements with a lot of concessions to make it attractive for businesses. The average office rentals in Philadelphia ran from $21.65 to $24.75 per square foot in the central business areas. This trend is expected to continue right through to 2010 and even further as most experts think office spaces in Philadelphia will take a few years to recover as most companies are afraid to commit to a lease or long term office rental.
Philadelphia Crime Rates and Current News:
The crime rate here is at 54 crimes per one thousand residents. This figure is considerably low if compared to the other cities in the US of the same size and population. Philadelphia is made up of large divisions, namely North, Northeast, Northwest, West, South and Southwest Philadelphia. These areas surround the Center City. Many people like to go to the old part of the city in Downtown Philadelphia rather than the mid town as the traffic is much bearable and you can take a pleasant walk to the ‘Welcome Park’. It is the place where the government of Pennsylvania first started its administration at the Slate Roof House way back in 1701. You will also come across the City Tavern Restaurant where you will find the waiters wear in old colonial costumes to give it an authentic quaint feeling.

The Philadelphia cruise lines include Norwegian Cruises and Royal Caribbean Cruises, both offering cruise vacations to Bermuda. The Philadelphia cruise port is uniquely situated; 62 million people live within a five mile drive. And Philly has so much to offer. There are first class hotels, good transportation, colorful neighborhoods and lots of history. All of it is within walking distance. As the tourism board says when it is touting the Philadelphia Cruise Port, it is Americas “Berthplace”.

The United States Constitution was written in Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell lies directly across from it. In Independence Hall the chair that George Washington sat in and Thomas Jefferson’s walking stick are on view. A short distance away is the house where Betsey Ross sewed the American flag. At Penn’s Landing is the Independence Seaport Museum, a delight for people who love the sea. There is also the Reading Market, the oldest continually running marketplace in the US. The Amish people bring their homemade items to sell Wednesdays through Saturdays. Don’t forget to eat a Philly Cheese steak then run up the famous steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art just like Rocky.

For people who choose to take their cruise vacation from here, the Philadelphia cruise port is five minutes from interstate 95. Parking is plentiful and will run you about $10.00 per day. If you fly in to take your cruise vacation, taxis are a flat rate of $20.00 from the airport to Philadelphia’s Cruise Terminal.

After boarding one of the cruise lines, you will most likely leave the Philadelphia cruise port at 3:00 PM. Use this time to explore your cruise ship and to unpack and settle in. Make any appointments you want on this day as spa and beauty appointments go fast. Tonight will be a causal night for dinner. The next day you will have a leisurely day at sea to do what ever you want. This night will probably be formal night and will be billed as the Captain’s Welcome Dinner.

The next day is exciting because you will land at St. George Island at two o’clock. Head to St. Catherine’s Fort, built in the 1600′s, it has spectacular views of the ocean. Go inside to view a replica of the British Crown Jewels and various military paraphernalia. St. Catherine’s Beach is at the foot of the Fort and is one of the nicest beaches around.

Bermudas oldest church, St. Peter’s, contains many relics. You will have to climb many steps but it is worth it. Don’t forget to visit King’s Square where you can view pillories, stocks and whipping posts the favored form of punishment in the 16th and 17th centuries.

You will overnight on your cruise ship at St. George Island, departing the next day at 7:00 AM for Hamilton, Bermuda, arriving there at 9:00 AM. You have the whole day and night to explore the historic Churches, Forts, Lighthouses and Museums. You may just want to go to their beautiful blue water beaches. Wonder over to the Royal Naval Dockyard or opt to experience swimming with the dolphins. Once again you will overnight on the cruise ship and depart the next morning at 8:00 AM.

You will have another day at see before returning to the Port of Philadelphia
